The 2021 Myanmar Protests is a national protest in Myanmarball's clay that started since Feb 1st 2021. This protest protest against the General Min Aung Hlaing's Coup d'etat which carried out the arrest of 7 notable political leaders, including State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint. It is also called the Spring Revolution locally. Most of these protests take place in the country's three biggest cities which include Yangonball, Mandalayball, and the capital Naypyidawball, with some minor protests in other cities and towns. The color red, which is associated with NLDball (National League for Democracy, Aung San Suu Kyi's political party), has been donned by many protesters. Kaba Ma Kyei Bu, a song that was first popularized as the anthem of the 8888 Uprising, has been revitalized by the civil disobedience movement as a protest song. The three-finger salute has been widely adopted by protesters as a protest symbol, while some pro-democracy netizens have joined the " Milk Tea Alliance".
In response to the growing protest movement, the military regime has enacted a number of countermeasures. These include an internet and social media blackout ( Faceblock being banned in many internet services), a media blackout, arrests and criminal sentences against protesters, spread of misinformation, Police shootings which ended up fatal of a woman, and political overtures to competing political parties to participate in the newly formed State Administration Council.
In Tokyoball, Japanball, over 4,000 people protest against the coup in Shibuya district, thus making it the largest protest in Japanese history. It started with local Burmese residents in the clay protesting, which attracts even more people to join the riot. It eventually also happened at the UN University.
In the USAball, there are 2 protests started by Burmese residents. First in Washington DCball on 3rd February with over 150 Burmese protests outside the Myanmar Embassy. Another protest happened at 6th March in Tennesseeball, Burmese residents protest outside Tennesseeball's State Capitol.
