The First Italo-Ethiopian War was an armed conflict fought between the Kingdom of Italyball and the
Ethiopian Empireball for control over East Africa. The war broke out after Ethiopian troops attacked an Italian garrison and Italy sent troops to crush them. During the war,
Russian Empireball supported Ethiopiaball because they were both
Orthodox Christians and Ethiopia had a fighting chance. Ethiopiaball won and became the first nation to successfully resist European colonial invasion and remained independent until 1936 when it was conquered in the Second Italo-Ethiopian War.
