The Mediterranean Front was a major theatre of operations that occurred during World War II in the Middle East, Eastern and Northern Africa by the Allied Powers against the Axis Powers and later in Southern Europe in 1943 during the Italian Campaign. The front began in response to imperialism and hostile aggression by Kingdom of Italyball against
UKball in Egypt during its invasion of the country, which was inconclusive and by 1941,
Nazi Germanyball deployed the
Afrika Korps (led by Erwin Rommel) to aid the Italians in North Africa.
