Wartime and Post-WWII life
At the beginning of World War II, Nazi Germanyball attacked Rotterdamball for several days, with Rotterdamball resisting relentlessly during this period. During the last day, Nazi Germanyball dropped bombs on him, leaving him severely injured, many of his people homeless and most of his clay blackened. Netherlandsball did not want this to happen to other of his cityballs and as a result capitulised.
Throughout the war period, Rotterdamball fought for his life, and successfully recovered. In the 1950's, he was already thriving to become a modern cityball. At that time, many immigrants came to him and that, among other factors, gave his
clay city a new identity.
He will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020.
