Today's a sad day.

On this very day, 19 years ago, a fundamentalist islamic group, known as Al Qaeda, planned a terrorist attack.

There were 3 locations where they planned on striking.

The first was in Manhattan, NY.

The second was in the US Capitol, in Washington DC.

The third was at the Pentagon, in Arlington County, VA.

When planning the attack, they decided they would hijack 4 planes and crash them into the locations they planned on striking. The first plane shown was flight AA-11, which was hijacked by Mohamed Atta. The plane looked like this:

The second plane was flight UA-175, which was hijacked by Mohand-Al-Shehri and Fayez Banihammad. This flight had the same destination and also came from boston. The plane looked like this:

The third plane was AA-77, which was hijacked by Hani Hanjour. This plane was originally coming from dullas, virginia and had the same destination as the first 2 planes i mentioned. The plane looked like this:

The fourth plane was UA-93, which was hijacked by Saeed Al Ghamdi. This plane was coming from New Jersey and was headed towards San Francisco, CA. The plane looked like this:

Al Qaeda successfully hijacked all 4 planes. This would result in the death of 265 people, as nobody on the hijacked planes made it out alive. The first 2 planes i mentioned went to Manhattan, NY where they crashed into the World trade Center. This resulted in 2,606 deaths of american civilians.

The third plane I mentioned went to Arlington Virginia, where they crashed into the western part of the Pentagon. This resulted in 125 civilian deaths.

The fourth plane I mentioned failed go to Washington DC, as the passengers managed to put up a fight against the hijackers, but sadly they died as the plane crashed into Stonycreek Pennsylvania.

There were, in total, 2,977 American Civilians who lost their lives that day, to the hands of Al Qaeda. May they all be remembered and rest in peace.
